Meet the Oscar-Nominated WEBEL Animation Academy Alumni Pramita Mukherjee and Pradipto Sengupta

Pramita Mukherjee and Pradipto Sengupta, part of the Oscar-nominated film Puss In Boots, are two prime examples of the standards set by the academy. Pramita, a Senior CFX Developer at DreamWorks Animation, has 18 years of experience under her belt and took her skills from Kolkata to the big animation hubs of London and Los Angeles.

She has gone from mastering rigging as a Character TD to working her CFX skills for Kung Fu Panda 4, Wonder Woman, and Black Panther.She is taking the initiative to share her know-how, mentoring young animators through Women In Animation (WIA) and lending her insights as a board member of Asians In Animation (AIA) and the Visual Effects Society (VES).

Then there is Pradipto, CFX Supervisor at Dreamworks Animation and a true jack-of-all-trades in animation. With 17 years of experience, he’s done everything from rigging to supervising CFX, even leading animation workflows abroad in China at Base Animations. He’s currently using his eye for detail and efficiency to bring characters to life in high-stakes projects, adding depth and personality to each one.


These two talents reflect the kind of success WEBEL Animation Academy aims to nurture. In an industry that’s all about staying ahead of the curve, Pramita and Pradipto are giving back and guiding the next generation of artists in their journeys.
