ITI Limited Emerges as Top Bidder for BharatNet Phase 3 Projects

ITI Limited, a prominent state-owned telecommunications manufacturing enterprise, announced on Sunday the receipt of substantial orders from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for the BharatNet Phase-3 project, amounting to a total value of ₹4,559 crore. This development underscores the company’s significant role in advancing national digital infrastructure.

The BharatNet Phase-3 initiative, issued by BSNL, involves the design, supply, construction, installation, upgradation, operation, and maintenance of the Middle Mile Network. The project is structured under a Design Build Operate and Maintain (DBOM) model, aimed at enhancing connectivity and bridging the digital divide across India.

ITI Limited has emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L1) for multiple key packages. The first package, valued at ₹1,537 crore, covers the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Manipur. Additionally, ITI Limited secured the lowest bid for projects in Himachal Pradesh and a combined package for West Bengal and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with a cumulative value of ₹3,022 crore. This brings the total order value for the company to ₹4,559 crore.

Rajesh Rai, Chairman and Managing Director of ITI Limited, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome. “We are pleased to have emerged as L1 for another significant package of the BharatNet Phase-3 Project covering Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Manipur. This achievement is a pivotal moment for ITI, and our team is dedicated to further enhancing the company’s reputation.”

Rai also emphasized the challenges associated with executing projects in difficult terrains, such as the Andaman Islands and the northeastern region. “Being the lowest bidder for major packages in these challenging areas is a notable accomplishment, and it presents unique obstacles. Our team remains highly committed to delivering excellence,” he remarked. ITI Limited has extensive expertise in implementing optical fibre networks across India, with a proven track record in defence and prior BharatNet projects.
