Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 14th November – The eUttar Pradesh Summit 2024, hosted by Elets Technomedia, showcased the state’s incredible strides in Information Technology (IT) and electronics, marking a significant milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s journey as a leading hub for digital transformation, manufacturing, and innovation.

The event commenced with an insightful Inaugural Session: India’s IT Revolution and Future Vision, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Ravi Gupta, Founder and CEO of Elets Technomedia. He highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s extraordinary achievements in leveraging Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and electronics to revolutionize governance and public service delivery, positioning the state as a global leader in IT.


In his Program Chair Address, Anil Kumar Sagar, Principal Secretary of the IT & Electronics Department of Uttar Pradesh, emphasized the state’s digital governance success, pointing to the Nivesh Mitra platform and its advancements in electronics manufacturing, including becoming a dominant player in mobile phone production in India.

The Chief Guest Address by Shri Brajesh Pathak, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, underscored the rapid technological developments the state has experienced since 2017, including significant progress in mobile phone manufacturing and digital advancements in healthcare. Shri Pathak also stressed that this summit would catalyze accelerating IT transformation in Uttar Pradesh.

A Special Address by Rabindra Narayan Behera, Member of Parliament from Jajpur, Odisha, shed light on the broader historical context of India’s IT evolution, citing key milestones such as the DISNIC project, the introduction of web-based e-services, and the digitization of Odisha’s cultural heritage.


Somesh Agrawal, Director of Haier Appliances, delivered the Industry Address, highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s leadership in electronics development, with investments of ₹4 lakh crore in 2023 alone. Haier’s expansion in Noida is a testament to the state’s investor-friendly policies and its growing stature in global electronics manufacturing.

The Keynote Address by Dr M K Shanmuga Sundaram, Principal Secretary of Basic Education in Uttar Pradesh, presented the state’s remarkable transformation in education through IT integration. Uttar Pradesh now boasts 1,700 PM SHRI Schools, 75 Abhyudaya Vidyalayas, and a strong focus on technological infrastructure to benefit over 4 crore students.

Sanket Bhondve, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, delivered a keynote on India’s leadership in the digital realm. With innovations such as Aadhaar, UPI, and PM GatiShakti, India is setting global standards in digital public infrastructure, with Uttar Pradesh playing a pivotal role in supporting national IT initiatives.

The summit concluded with a Special Address by Sunil Kumar Sharma, Hon’ble Minister of IT & Electronics of Uttar Pradesh, and Anju Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary of Agriculture & Cooperative Department, Government of Gujarat, who spoke on the intersection of IT and various sectors like agriculture and cooperative development.

A highlight of the event was the Unveiling of the Special Souvenir & Award Ceremony, where Shri Brajesh Pathak launched the eGov special souvenir, acknowledging the remarkable contributions to Uttar Pradesh’s IT and electronics ecosystem.

The eUttar Pradesh Summit 2024 was a resounding success, reinforcing the state’s commitment to driving innovation and creating a future-ready infrastructure in IT, electronics, and beyond.

Keynote speeches and panel discussions focused on innovation, governance, and emerging technologies.

Amit Pal, Head of NIP at Haier Appliances (I) Pvt Ltd, reaffirmed Haier’s strong commitment to India, highlighting the company’s substantial investments in manufacturing facilities located in Uttar Pradesh. With plans to produce 8 million units annually by 2028, Haier’s operations are poised to create thousands of jobs and contribute significantly to the state’s industrial development. Haier’s impressive position as the fastest-growing major appliance company in India, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25%, reflects the essential role Uttar Pradesh plays in the company’s continued success.

Dr Adapa Karthik, Secretary of the Government of Punjab, addressed the rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI), emphasizing its transformative potential in both healthcare and the wider economy. The integration of AI with advanced data processing and computing power is expected to foster a technological revolution, with profound implications across multiple sectors, including healthcare and agriculture.

Ravi Ranjan, Managing Director of UP Electronics Corporation Ltd., presented Uttar Pradesh as the “New Frontier for IT & Electronics Innovation,” citing the state’s significant investments in IT infrastructure and the implementation of policies designed to encourage growth. The state has seen a marked expansion in its IT workforce, now exceeding 3 lakh professionals, with IT sector exports reaching ₹72,000 crore, further solidifying Uttar Pradesh’s position as a leading hub for IT and electronics.

Ekta Singh, Additional State Project Director for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, introduced the Diksha app, a transformative tool in Uttar Pradesh’s educational landscape. The app provides digital learning resources to over 2 lakh students and teachers across the state, significantly enhancing the classroom experience and reinforcing the state’s dedication to advancing education through technology.

The Special Address by Shri Awanish Awasthi, Advisor to the Chief Minister, underscored the state’s commitment to innovation and its growing startup ecosystem. He highlighted the development of a Centre of Excellence in Gorakhpur in collaboration with TCS, focusing on cutting-edge technologies like drones, cybersecurity, and space tech.

Hasan Yaqoob, a Public Policy Professional and AI Committee Member for the Government of Uttar Pradesh, discussed the state’s potential to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) for the welfare of its citizens. He emphasized the significant role that AI-driven technologies can play in shaping a more efficient, data-driven approach to governance. Ankush Sabharwal, Founder and CEO of CoRover, addressed the responsible use of AI, underscoring the critical importance of inclusivity, transparency, and privacy in the development and deployment of AI systems. Naincy Agrawal, Chief Manager (Law) at Union Bank of India, highlighted the bank’s leading role in the digital transformation of public sector banking. She pointed out key innovations, such as multilingual digital banking, the adoption of blockchain technology, and the automation of MSME loan renewals, which are positioning Union Bank at the forefront of the sector’s technological advancements.

The summit culminated with the Unveiling of the Special Souvenir and an Award Ceremony, where Shri Brajesh Pathak, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, launched the eGov special souvenir, celebrating Uttar Pradesh’s achievements and promising a future full of opportunities in IT and electronics.
