REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a subsidiary of REC Limited under the Ministry of Power, transferred two Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) today. Khavda IV A Power Transmission Limited was handed over to Adani Energy Solutions Limited, and Khavda IV C Power Transmission Limited was handed over to Sterlite Grid 38 Limited. These projects are critical for evacuating power from the renewable energy zone in Gujarat’s Khavda area under Phase-IV (7 GW).

Adani Energy Solutions and Sterlite Grid 38 Limited, a subsidiary of Sterlite Power Transmission Limited, were selected as the Transmission Service Providers (TSP) for Khavda Phase IV Part A and Part C, respectively, through Tariff-based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) conducted by RECPDCL. The projects will be developed on a Build, Own, Operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis.

The Khavda IV A project involves the construction of 310.31 km of 765 KV line and the development of 765 KV and 400 KV bus sections at the KPS3 GIS substation. The Khavda IV C project includes the establishment of a 765/400 KV and 400/220 KV Boisar-II (GIS) substation, the construction of 257.29 km of 765 KV line, and 20.725 km of 400 KV line.

The SPVs were handed over by T.S.C. Bosh, CEO of RECPDCL, to Sanjay Johari, Vice President of Adani Energy Solutions, and Tatimakula Amarendranath Reddy, Executive Vice President of Sterlite Power Transmission, in the presence of senior officials from RECPDCL, AESL, SPTL, and Central Transmission Utility of India Limited. The projects are expected to be completed within 24 months.
