Apraava Energy has won a significant interstate transmission project in Rajasthan aimed at boosting the state’s renewable energy infrastructure. The project entails the construction of approximately 200 km of 400 kV and 765 kV transmission lines, alongside a 765/400 kV pooling station. This station, with a capacity of 5×500 MVA at 400/220 kV, will facilitate the evacuation of 5.5 GW of renewable energy from Rajasthan’s Renewable Energy Zone Phase IV, spanning Jaisalmer and Barmer. The project is a key component of the interstate green energy corridor.
REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has transferred the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the project to Apraava Energy. Developed under the Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) model, the project will offer transmission services for 35 years once operational. Apraava secured the contract through a Tariff-based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process and is expected to generate direct and indirect employment for about 1,000 individuals during its two-year construction phase.

In related news, Apraava recently signed a power purchase agreement with NTPC Limited for a 300 MW solar project in Rajasthan connected to the inter-state transmission system. In August 2024, RECPDCL also transferred Rajasthan IV-A Power Transmission Limited, an SPV, to Apraava for further development.
