In a significant development, Adani Green Energy Ltd announced on Wednesday the commissioning of a massive 2,000 MW solar capacity at the Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat. With this accomplishment, the company has secured its position as the first in India to surpass the 10,000 MW mark in renewable energy capacity.

The operational portfolio of Adani Green Energy Ltd now stands at an impressive 10,934 MW, establishing itself as the largest renewable energy producer in India. The company further revealed that it has added 2,848 MW of renewable capacity in the fiscal year 2024, as per a company statement.

The operational portfolio of AGEL comprises 7,393 MW of solar capacity, 1,401 MW of wind power, and 2,140 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity.

Looking ahead, AGEL has set ambitious targets, aiming to achieve 45 GW of renewable energy by 2030.

According to the company statement, the 10,934 MW operational portfolio will cater to the energy needs of more than 5.8 million households and prevent approximately 21 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.

Expressing pride in this milestone, Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, remarked, “We are proud to be India’s first das hazari in the renewables space.” He emphasized the company’s rapid progress, highlighting how Adani Green Energy has transitioned from a mere idea to a substantial 10,000 MW installed capacity in less than a decade.
