Kiren Rijiju

In a recent development, Union Earth Sciences Minister Kiren Rijiju has taken on an additional role as the Union Minister of Food Processing Industries. This development took place following the acceptance of the resignation of Union Food Processing Industries Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras.

Being entrusted with additional responsibility, Shri Rijiju expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasising his commitment to leveraging every moment towards achieving Prime Minister Modi’s vision of propelling India to become the world’s third-largest economy during his third term and ultimately transforming India into a fully developed nation by 2047.

Former Food Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras resigned on Tuesday, citing grievances against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for what he perceived as unfair treatment toward his Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) during seat-sharing negotiations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Bihar. Paras’s resignation came amidst tensions arising from the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance’s decision to allocate seats to the Chirag Paswan-led LJP (Ram Vilas) faction, sidelining Paras’s claims.
