In a significant administrative overhaul, the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led government in Himachal Pradesh has executed the transfer and posting of 18 IAS, 12 IPS, and 16 Himachal Pradesh Police Service officers. The reshuffle encompasses key positions, with 8 Deputy Commissioners and 4 Superintendents of Police (SPs) affected.

Among the notable appointments, Raghav Sharma, a 2013 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Director of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, along with serving as the ex-officio Special Secretary.

Hemraj Bairwa, also a 2013 batch IAS officer, assumes the role of DC in Kangra, along with the additional responsibility of chairing the HP Board of School Education. Aditya Negi has been designated as the Settlement Officer for Kangra division, while Anupam Kashyap, the former Director of Transport, steps into the role of Shimla DC.


In the police department reshuffle, Sakshi Verma, a 2014 batch IPS officer, takes the helm as Mandi SP, succeeding her tenure in Kullu. Karthikeyan Gokulachandran, also a 2014 batch IPS officer, transitions to SP of Kullu from his previous role in Bilaspur.

Further changes include Rohit Malpani, a 2012 batch IPS officer, assuming commandant duties at the first armed police battalion in Junga.


Shristi Pandey, a 2018 batch IPS officer, assumes the role of Kinnaur SP, while Vivek Chehal relocates to Bilaspur as SP.

Bimal Gupta, an inspector general of police from the 2006 batch, now heads the IG State Vigilance and Anti-corruption bureau.

Additionally, Soumya Sambasivan secures a promotion to DGP and is slated to lead as Principal of the Police Training School in Daroh.

Other key changes include Arjit Sen Thakur assuming the position of SP in the state disaster response force, Monika Butungru’s appointment as commandant of the 6th battalion, and Padam Chand’s relocation from SP (crime) Dhaulakuan to Hamirpur SP.

Akriti, formerly the Hamirpur SP, transitions to commandant of the first IRBN in Bangarh, while Rakesh Singh assumes the SP role in Una after serving as commandant of the fifth IRBN.
