Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Friday, officially inaugurated the Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit 2023 at the Forest Research Institute in Dehradun. The two-day summit, with the primary objective of positioning the hill state as a prominent investment hub, marks a significant milestone in India’s economic development.

During the event, Prime Minister Modi also unveiled the ‘House of Himalayas’ brand, a strategic initiative aimed at promoting locally sourced products and boosting the income of self-help groups in the region.

Months of meticulous planning and organization have paved the way for this remarkable summit, attracting the participation of over a thousand investors and delegates from both within the country and abroad. The summit had initially set an ambitious target of signing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 2.5 lakh crore. However, in the lead-up to the event, it has already surpassed expectations, with commitments totaling approximately Rs 3 lakh crore.

The success of this event can be attributed to the extensive promotional efforts, including roadshows held by Chief Minister Dhami in India’s major metropolitan cities, as well as in London, Birmingham in the UK, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, which generated substantial interest and investment enthusiasm.
