K Shanmugha Sundaram Appointed Director (Projects), NTPC

In a significant development, K Shanmugha Sundaram has officially taken on the role of Director (Projects) at NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation) on Friday. Sundaram, a seasoned power professional with an impressive 34-year track record in the power sector, was previously serving as the Head of Project at NTPC Kaniha in Odisha.


Sundaram’s appointment to the esteemed position comes following the recommendation of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel, which endorsed his candidacy on July 13. Effective December 1, 2023, he assumes this pivotal role, pending further directives.

Throughout his extensive career, Sundaram has showcased his expertise and dedication in various capacities at NTPC, having joined the organization in 1988 as an Executive Trainee at Badarpur. Prior to his assignment at NTPC Kaniha, he held the position of Head of the Project at Barauni Thermal Power Station in Bihar.

With his wealth of experience and knowledge, K Shanmugha Sundaram is poised to make a significant impact in his new role as Director (Projects) at NTPC.
