The India SME Forum (ISF), the nation’s largest non-governmental organisation dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises, hosted a National Summit to unveil IndiaXports 2.0, a groundbreaking program designed to assist 200,000 novice exporters in venturing into international markets through e-commerce platforms.

The event, attended by dignitaries including MSME Minister Shri Narayan Rane, highlighted the crucial role of e-commerce in bolstering India’s small businesses on the global stage. Minister Rane commended ISF for its efforts, emphasising the government’s commitment to promoting industrial expansion and international trade.

Santosh Sarangi, IAS, Director General of Foreign Trade, emphasised the importance of MSMEs in achieving India’s $2 trillion export target and becoming a major player in global exports. He highlighted the positive correlation between export growth and increased per capita GDP.

Amazon’s Vice President of Public Policy, Mr. Chetan Krishnaswamy, discussed the democratising effect of e-commerce exports on international trade, noting the significant growth in sellers on Amazon.in and the entrepreneurial spirit of Indian small businesses.

Mr. Vinod Kumar, President of India SME Forum, stressed the transformative impact of ‘IndiaXports 2.0’ in empowering MSMEs and encouraging their participation in the global marketplace. He underscored the initiative’s commitment to nurturing export capabilities and driving economic prosperity.

The summit featured discussions on regulatory compliance, competition, and strategies for economic growth, highlighting the role of regulatory changes, innovation, quality standards, certifications, and soft power in promoting e-commerce exports.
