Gensol Engineering Limited, in collaboration with Matrix Gas and Renewables Limited, has successfully secured an Engineering, Procurement, and Commissioning (EPC) contract from NHPC Limited for a green hydrogen-based mobility station located in Kargil, Ladakh. This significant project is poised to enable the operation of buses fueled by hydrogen fuel cells within the region.

Under this contract, Gensol will spearhead the development of a 500 kW grid-connected, ground-mounted solar power project designed to supply energy to the hydrogen refueling station. Simultaneously, Matrix Gas and Renewables Limited will assume responsibility for managing the EPC of two electrolysers, each boasting a capacity of 30 NM3.

The project’s scope extends to the comprehensive EPC of the entire balance of plant, including the installation of the green hydrogen system, storage facilities, and dispensing infrastructure. Additionally, it encompasses the essential civil and electrical infrastructure required for seamless integration of solar and hydrogen operations in Ladakh. This ambitious project spans the entirety of the green hydrogen supply chain and is slated for commissioning within 12 months of receiving the work order.

In October 2023, Gensol Engineering achieved another milestone by securing a 62 MW AC solar photovoltaic project from Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited, which will be located in the Akola district of Maharashtra.
