In a recent administrative reshuffle, the Tamil Nadu state government has announced the transfer of five prominent Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. This move, issued by State Chief Secretary Shiv Das Meena on Thursday, aims to reallocate responsibilities and streamline the bureaucracy within the state.

J Kumaragurubaran, who was serving as the Secretary to the Government Information Technology and Digital Services, has been reassigned as the Secretary to the State School Education Department. He will take over the position previously held by Kakarla Usha.

Ms. Kakarla Usha, in turn, has been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the State Tourism Department, where she will play a pivotal role in shaping the state’s tourism initiatives.


Dheeraj Kumar, the Principal Secretary of the Commercial Taxes Department, has been appointed as the new Principal Secretary of the State Information Technology Department, taking on crucial responsibilities in the state’s digital landscape.

Jayashree Muralidharan, who was serving as the Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDCO Ltd), has also been transferred. She will now assume the position of Secretary to the State Differently Abled Persons Welfare Department, focusing on the welfare and support of differently-abled individuals in Tamil Nadu.

Sandeep Nanduri, who had been leading the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. as its Managing Director, has been reassigned as the Managing Director of TIDCO Ltd. This appointment reflects the government’s strategic vision for industrial development and economic growth in the state.
