The Election Commission of India (ECI) has shortlisted as many as 35 IAS and IPS officers of Gujarat cadre as election observers to be deployed in the five poll-bound states of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, and Goa. Though the officers have not been assigned the constituencies yet, it is likely that they will be serving nearly a month on election duty.
