Sushil Chandra to take over as Chief Election Commissioner of India today

The Hon’ble President of India Ram Nath Kovind appointed Sushil Chandra as Chief Election Commissioner of India. With the new charge Chandra will head the Election Commission of India.


As per the orders, he will assume the newly appointed charge of the Chief Election Commissioner on April 13, 2021, today. The decision came in as Sunil Arora the outgoing Chief Election Commissioner of India demitted the Office of the Chief Election Commissioner on April 12, 2021.
