Following the approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), Sanjeev Kumar (IAS 1993-Batch) has taken over as the Chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) on April 7. Prior to his new appointment, he was positioned as State Commissioner (GST) with the Government of Maharashtra. The approval from the ACC came on March 25.
Kumar had spent over five years in the State Goods Taxation Department in various capacities, especially at the crucial time of introduction of Value Added Tax (VAT) in 2005 and then in Goods and Service Tax (GST).
