Maharashtra Govt appoints Baldev Singh IAS as Principal Secretary, Industries

The Government of Maharashtra, on February 4, released an official order and appointed Baldev Singh (IAS 1989-Batch) as the Principal Secretary of the Industries Department. Singh is currently serving as Chief Electoral Officer.

The General Administration Department had already intimated the Election Commission of India, requesting to relieve Baldev Singh of his charges. Also, the department has put forth three recommendations to succeed Singh. Recommended names include Shrikant Deshpande (IAS 1991-Batch), Anand Limaye (IAS 1989-Batch) and Aseem Gupta (IAS 1994-Batch), as per sources.
