As the Centre announces Lockdown 5.0 or popularly known as Unlock 1 (due to the withdrawal of lockdown in a phased manner considering this as the phase 1), the Health Department of Government of Uttar Pradesh issued a set of guidelines for commercial, industrial and other offices to follow and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as they decide to resume operations gradually. According to the guidelines, all kinds of businesses are being allowed to start operating phase-wise.
All the firm owners, heads have to ensure that all the preventive measures are being followed such as washing hands; use of sanitizers; social distancing; sanitisation of touchpoints like door handles, taps, desks, computers etc. to protect against the Coronavirus infection.
Amit Mohan Prasad, Principal Secretary (Health) to the Government of Uttar Pradesh has asked all district magistrates to ensure the guidelines are being adhered to. Prasad said, “The nationwide lockdown implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is being lifted in phases to allow offices to start functioning again. Hence, the work is being resumed at construction sites, workplaces and at offices. Therefore, precautions are required to be exercised at all workplaces.”
Moreover, the State has asked the owners of the industrial units to maintain a register of all the employees mentioning their mobile no. address and other details which can be needed in case of any emergency. The State had also advised that pregnant women shall not resume the work during this time so that they can stay away from the infection. In a 100 seater bus, only 50 workers can travel, the guidelines added. If workers are found positive with Covid-19, then the office or unit in question will be shut down for 24 hours. And all workers will be put in 14 days quarantine.
