The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has given a nod to a major bureaucratic reshuffle at the Centre involving the transfer of as many as 22 IAS officers with immediate effect.

  1. Arun Singhal, a 1987-Batch IAS officer, has been transferred as the CEO, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW). Singhal presently holds the position of Special Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare.

  2. S Gopalakrishnan (1991-Batch) currently serving as the Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister’s office on a lateral shift basis for balance period of Central deputation tenure that is up to October 2022.


  3. Dr Rajendra Kumar (1992-Batch) has been transferred as the Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology. Dr Kumar is serving as Director General (DG), ESIC under Ministry of Labour and Employment.

  4. A 1989-Batch IA&AS officer, Subir Mallick has been appointed as Additional Financial Advisor and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence (finance) for the balance period of his Central deputation tenure till May 2021.


  5. C Sridhar (2001-Batch), the present Deputy Director, LBSNAA, Mussoorie has been given the charge of Secretary, PM’s office on lateral shift basis up to August 2022 or until further orders.

  6. Surendra Prasad Yadav (1996-Batch IFoS officer) has been given the charge of Secretary, Department of Defence Production from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders.

  7. Manish Tiwari (1995-Batch IRTS officer) has been appointed as the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs from the date of assumption of the charge against an existing vacancy.

  8. Ateesh Kumar Singh, a 1994-Batch IRTS officer, has been transferred as Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

  9. Anupam Mishra (1995-Batch IES officer) has been appointed as Joint Secretary (A&F), Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office, NITI Aayog.

  10. A 1994-Batch IP&TA&FS officer, Vinod Kotwal has been given the charge of  Member Secretary, National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) which is a Joint Secretary level position.

  11. Alaknanda Dayal (2000-Batch IAS officer) has been transferred as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture Cooperation and Farmers Welfare from the date of assumption up to November 2022 or until further orders.

  12. Pallavi Aggarwal (1991-Batch IRS officer) has been appointed as Member Secretary, National Monuments Authority, Ministry of Culture.

  13. V Radha (1994-Batch) has been shifted as Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade.

  14. Vijay Kumar Singh (1995-Batch ICAS officer) has been appointed as Member (Finance), Delhi Development Authority (DDA) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).

  15. Ghanshyam Prasad (1989-Batch CPES officer) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power.

  16. Himabindu Mudumbai (1999-Batch IA&AS officer) has been given the charge of  Joint Secretary, Department of Revenue.

  17. Vipin Kumar (1996-Batch IAS officer) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy.

  18. Sunil Kumar (1999-Batch IFoS officer) has been given the charge of Joint Secretary, Department of Science and Technology.

  19. R Jaya (1995-Batch IAS officer) has been transferred as  Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

  20. Roop Rashi (1994-Batch IA&AS officer) has been given the charge of Textile Commissioner, Mumbai under the Ministry of Textiles.

  21. Meera Mohanty (2005-Batch IAS officer) has been transferred as Director, PM’s office on a lateral shift basis for the balance period of her Centre deputation tenure that is up to May 2021.

  22. Smita Sarangi (2008-Batch IAS officer) has been appointed as the Deputy Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat on a lateral shift basis for the balance period of Central deputation up to July 2022.
