The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has given a nod to a major bureaucratic reshuffle at the Centre involving the transfer of as many as 22 IAS officers with immediate effect.

Arun Singhal, a 1987-Batch IAS officer, has been transferred as the CEO, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW). Singhal presently holds the position of Special Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare.

S Gopalakrishnan (1991-Batch) currently serving as the Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister’s office on a lateral shift basis for balance period of Central deputation tenure that is up to October 2022.

Dr Rajendra Kumar (1992-Batch) has been transferred as the Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology. Dr Kumar is serving as Director General (DG), ESIC under Ministry of Labour and Employment.

A 1989-Batch IA&AS officer, Subir Mallick has been appointed as Additional Financial Advisor and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence (finance) for the balance period of his Central deputation tenure till May 2021.
