RP Mandal appointed as Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh

Rajendra Prasad Mandal, 1987-Batch IAS officer has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh. He will take over the post from Sunil Kumar Kujur (1986-Batch), who is due to retire in this month.


Mandal’s term would be for 11 months. Apart from Mandal, the other two contenders for this post were CK Khaitan (1987-Batch) and Amitabh Jain (1989-Batch).

Prior to being appointed as the Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary, Mandal had held posts like Additional Chief Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development, Home, Jail and Transport. He was also the Transport Commissioner.

He has also served as the Principal Secretary, Department of Forest and Labour, Government of Chhattisgarh.
