Setting an example for the citizens, and putting a foot forward towards his flagship initiative Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen picking up garbage and plastic strewn on a Mamallapuram beach on Saturday morning.
PM Modi, who arrived in Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu on Friday to hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping was taking a stroll around the beach this morning. He had plogged the strewn plastic and garbage for over 30 minutes.
“Let us ensure our public places are clean and tidy! Let us also ensure we remain fit and healthy,” he tweeted later along with a video of this activity.
