HPGCL awarded at 16th National Award for Excellence in Cost Management

Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd has been conferred first position in the 16th National Award for Excellence in Cost Management-2018, organised by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India under Category Power Generation, Distribution and Transmission. The award ceremony was held in New Delhi.
National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) has bagged the second position in the category.
Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs and Subhash Chandra Garg, Power Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India presented the award which was received by B.B. Gupta, Controller Finance, Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd. (HPGCL) and Cost Management Accountants (CMA) and Sanjeev Arora, Controller Accounts received the HPGCL award.
Balwinder Singh, President, Institute of Cost Accountants of India and Cost Management Accountants and others were present during the award ceremony.
The awards were given in various categories to the participant after evaluation by CARE Rating Ltd., an independent rating agency, which was then reviewed by an expert screening committee headed by Director (Finance), ONGC Videsh Ltd, Vivekanand.
However, the winners were finally selected by a jury of eminent personalities headed by Subhash Chandra Garg, Finance Secretary and Secretary DEA, Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
TC Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary (Power) Haryana cum Chairman, HPGCL, congratulated Mohd. Shayin Managing Director, HPGCL and his team upon winning the award.
He also said that HPGCL is operating its business with the main objective to provide cost effective, uninterrupted quality power at Optimum Efficiency and said that the award will certainly bring fresh energy and value addition in the staff for motivating them towards attaining the management mantra of Conquer your cost, before it conquers you.
