Smart City Summit Kanpur


Kanpur city has bagged the eighth place in the list of top 10 smart cities in the country released by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Development under Smart City Mission. Kanpur Municipal Corporation and Kanpur Smart City aim to move higher in the rank and push the bar at transforming Kanpur city in to an inclusive, vibrant city of opportunities with sustainable growth, efficient urban services and healthy living standards with a prime focus on keeping Ganga and Commerce and Industries.

With an aim to highlight the initiatives taken by Kanpur Municipal Corporation and Kanpur Smart City into making industrial capital of Uttar Pradesh realise its smart city dream, the corporation and smart city, in association with Elets Technomedia are organising ‘Smart City Summit Kanpur’ on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.

The summit aims to explore ways for implementing sustainable city planning strategies to address rapid urbanisation and improve the overall the livability of the city. The summit will explore cutting edge issues, strategic solutions, investment strategies and pertinent case studies in urban planning, smart mobility, infrastructure development, service delivery and implementation and the development of smart cities.

Smt. Pramila Pandey, Hon’ble Mayor, Kanpur will be the special guest at the summit which would chaired by Santosh Kumar Sharma, Municipal Commissioner, Kanpur Municipal Corporation and CEO, Kanpur Smart City Limited and mentored by Subhash Chand Sharma, Divisional Commissioner, Kanpur and Chairman, Kanpur Smart City Limited.

Santosh Kumar Sharma, Municipal Commissioner, Kanpur Municipal Corporation & CEO, Kanpur Smart City Limited would deliver the inaugural address on “Rethinking Kanpur City: Resource-Efficient, Livable, Resilient and Sustainable”.

Uttar Pradesh Urban Perspective will be given by Rajeev Sharma, Special Secretary, Urban Development Department, GoUP & State Mission Director, Smart Cities Mission, Uttar Pradesh and International Perspective will be given by Ali Meftahi, First Secretary, Embassy of the Republic of Tunisia.

The Summit would also witness an array of panel discussions on Best Practices and Innovations in Smart Cities and Urban Development, Innovations in Effective Waste Management, Smart Healthcare, Mobility and Housing for all, and Tech-Led Initiatives for Sustainable Development, special addresses and presentations by policy makers, urban developers and industry experts working towards Smart City and Urban Development sectors.
