Power summit Hyderabad


Power is one of the inevitable factors of growth of any country. India is a land of diverse energy resources in terms of renewable as well as non-renewable energy. In May 2018, India ranked 4th in the Asia Pacific region out of 25 nations on an index that measures their overall power. As per reports, India’s power sector is likely to receive investments worth Rs 11.56 trillion by 2022 in thermal, hydro, nuclear and renewable energy segments.

In order to explore various facets of the Energy and Power sector, Elets Technomedia is conducting the Second National Power Summit, Hyderabad on 12 July, 2019, in association with Telangana State Energy Department and Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Ltd (TSREDCO).

The objective of the Summit would be to discuss policy framework and industry overview along with the vision for the future with the key stakeholders.


Focus Areas

The key focus areas of the Summit would include the following:


  • Tapping different renewable energy resources like Solar, Wind, Natural Gas and Bio Fuels
  • Energy systems in agriculture
  • Power generation, transmission and distribution
  • Smart energy, Smart Grid and utilities
  • Electric mobility such as electric vehicles and its policies, charging infrastructure manufacturers, energy storage among others
  • IT in Power such as IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and Cybersecurity
  • Deriving energy from solid waste

The Summit will not just focus in the Power sector but also analyse the innovations brought in the sector across multiple domains and the impact it would have in the lives of people.

The key speakers of the Summit would include policymakers, PSU leaders, industry leaders and domain experts.

Glimpses from the First Elets Power Summit

The first Elets Energy Summit, held on 9 February in Telangana witnessed panel discussions on the themes of Large, Medium Capacity Renewable Energy (Solar, Wind, Small Hydro) Generation and PV Tariff Design and way-forward, demand and supply, challenges & opportunities for future sector and global collaborations for joint R&D projects.

Ajay Mishra, Special Chief Secretary, Department of Energy, Government of Telangana was the Chief Guest of the first Power Summit. Other key speakers included Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner, Hyderabad; Josa Karre, Counseller for Commercial Affairs, Embassy of Sweden; A Sudhakar Rao, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Ltd (TSREDCO); Rajesh K Mediratta, Business Development, Indian Energy Exchange; Dr R K Pandey (Director General) National Power Training Institute among others.
