In its continuous effort and endeavours to achieve the dream of National Cleanliness Mission – Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the Government of Telangana, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation along with Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd, will be hosting a two-day ‘National Waste Alternate Conclave – Sustainable Waste Management Practices’ in Hyderabad on August 27 & 28, 2018.
The Conclave will be inaugurated by K T Rama Rao, Minister for Industry & Commerce, Municipal Administration & Urban Development, ITE&C, Mines, Handlooms & Textiles, NRI Affairs, Government of Telangana.
This unique Conclave will also focus on the role of private players and organisations, and their possible collaboration with the Government through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
From Telangana, Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary, Department of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Bonthu Rammohan, Mayor, GHMC; Mohammed Baba Fasiuddin, Deputy Mayor, GHMC; Md. Musharraf Ali Faruqui, Additional Commissioner – Department of Information Technology, Waste to Energy, SPD-CPP (Special Project Director -Charminar Pedestrian Project), GHMC; Harichandana Dasari, Zonal & Additional Commissioner -Corporate Social Responsibility, GHMC; B Venkatesh, Principal Secretary – Tourism, Sports & Cultural, Minority Welfare; Bharati Hollikeri, Zonal & Additional Commissioner – Zonal & Additional Commissioner -Department of Housing, Nala Enchorment & SRDP; K Shashanka, Commissioner, Karimnagar Municipal Corporation and others will provide their vision for the effective waste management in the State.
There will be elaborate discussions on Innovation, Best & Next Practices in Beating Plastic Pollution – Plastic Alternates, Policies on Single-use-Plastics, Innovations, Practices by Industries, Corporate, Domestic Communities and other Bulk Garbage Producers; Well Being and Wealth out of Waste – Waste to Energy, Bio Fuels, Bio-Gas, Bio Plastics, etc; Role of CSR and Best Practices for Cleanliness Mission; PPP Models in Local Government for Waste Management and Sanitation and Best & Next Practices in Medical & E- Waste.
A special issue of e-gov magazine will also be launched on this occasion.
This is the second National Waste Conclave organised by Elets. The first such event was oragnisedin 2017 in Hyderabad.
This conclave will be a step ahead in tune with the vision and spirit of GHMC, the Govt of Telangana and Government of India towards the Cleanliness Mission and to curb the use of single-use-plastics, and bring in eco-friendly alternates to wastes besides sustainable waste management practices.
