K Sunitha appointed Executive Director of Andhra Pradesh Tobacco Board

K Sunitha, a 1996 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has been appointed as Executive Director, Tobacco Board, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh under the Department of Commerce.

K. Sunitha, who earlier served as the secretary of Women, Child, Differently Abled & Senior Citizens Department, will serve the board for a tenure of three years.

The Tobacco Board regulates the production and curing of Virginia tobacco with regard to the demand in India and abroad. The board is also entrusted with monitoring the Virginia tobacco market, both in India and abroad, and ensuring fair and remunerative price to the growers and reducing wide fluctuations in the prices of the commodity.


The daughter of a retired IAS officer, Kaki Madhava Rao, K. Sunitha is married to Praveen Kumar, IAS.
