The rapid urbanisation and industrialisation in the country has led to the rising of waste generation. As the prosperity grows, 62 million tones of garbage is generated everyday by the 377 million people living in urban India alone. The waste management has become a major challenge for the state government and its municipal bodies. The “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” (Clean India Mission), launched on 2nd October, 2014 by the Government of India, was created to deal with the very issues of waste management, cleanliness and sanitation on a national level.

The conference will be a unique forum for idea exchange, knowledge sharing, networking, exploring opportunities for collaboration and new business opportunities, while setting the policy agenda to meet future challenges in Waste Management.
