Cisco's managing director of sales for India and SAARC region, Purushottam KaushikCisco’s managing director of sales for India and SAARC region, Purushottam Kaushik has put down his papers after working with the technology giant for seven years.

It is being said that Kaushik was lately handling only a few government accounts as opposed to his earlier responsibilities of managing a new $2 billion business around smart cities, Internet of Things (IoT), public safety and surveillance and Digital India initiatives.

It is being assumed that Kaushik may move on to join Juniper Networks where he will be responsible for its India operations. Juniper India’s managing director for India and SAARC region, Amajit Gupta has also left the company to pursue other opportunities.

Kaushik had been with Cisco since 2009 when he joined the company as a Vice President. He was then responsible for executing sales for service providers for a three-year period. He then moved to the capacity of becoming director of sales operations for the company’s service provider business.

Kaushik held this position for almost two and a half years before taking up the post of managing director in August 2014.
