IAS reshuffle

The Appointment Committee of Cabinet has approved appointments and reshuffle of 23 officers, including 18 IAS officers, at the Joint Secretary level in the Central Government. They are:

  • Arun Singhal, an IAS officer of 1987 batch of UP cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare, for a period of five years replacing K C Samaria, IAS officer of 1993 batch Assam-Meghalaya cadre.

 


  • Nikunja Kishore Sundaray, an IAS officer of 1987 batch of Odisha cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, for a period of five years by upgrading a post of Joint Development Commissioner (JDC) to Joint Secretary level in the Office of Development Commissioner (MSME) in the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises.

 

  • Aramane Giridhar, an IAS officer of 1988 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre, has been moved as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat for a period of five years, replacing Alok Tandon, an IAS officer of 1986 batch of UP cadre.

 


  • Ali Raza Rizvi, an IAS officer of 1988 batch of Himachal Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, on lateral shift basis for a period ending 30 Sept 2019 vice Ravi Capoor, an IAS officer of 1986 batch of Assam-Meghalaya cadre.

 

  • Rajit Punhani, an IAS officer of 1991 batch of Bihar cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment on lateral shift basis for a period up to 07 October 2019 replacing Dheeraj Kumar, an IAS officer of 1993 batch of Tamil Nadu cadre.

 

  • K C Samaria, an IAS officer of 1993 batch of Assam-Meghalaya cadre, has been moved as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs on lateral for period up to 27 July 2019, replacing Dinesh Bist, an IPS officer of 1987 batch of Bihar cadre.

 

  • Sanjay Kumar, an IAS officer of 1995 batch of Telangana cadre, is has been moved as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation, for a period of five years. He replaces B K Agarwal, an lAS officer of 1985 batch of Himachal Pradesh cadre.

 

  • Lav Agarwal, an IAS officer of 1996 batch of Andhra Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare, in place of Anshu Prakash, an IAS officer of 1985 batch of Union Territory cadre, who was appointed as Additional Secretary, Dept of Heavy Industry on 14 July 2016.

 

  • Ms Rakhee Gupta Bhandari, an IAS officer of 1997 batch of Punjab cadre, has been laterally shifted from the Ministry of Home to the Ministry of Minority Affairs for the balance period of her combined seven year central deputation tenure up to 30.04.2017. She replaces Rakesh Mohan, Indian Audit & Accounts Service (IA&AS) officer of 1987 batch, in the Ministry of Minority Affairs.

 

  • Suresh Kumar Vashist, an lAS officer of Odisha cadre of 1998 batch, has been moved as Joint Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution, for a period up to 16 September 2019. He replaces late Sri U K S Chauhan, a 1986 batch Kerala cadre IAS officer, who passed away this year.

 

  • V Sheshadri, an IAS officer of 1999 batch of Telangana cadre, has been promoted as Joint Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office. For Sheshadri, a JS post (vacant) was transferred from the Dept of Atomic Energy to PMO.

 

  • Brajendra Navnit, an IAS officer of 1999 batch of Tamil Nadu cadre, has been promoted as Joint Secretary in PMO for a tenure ending 02 July 2019. The post of Director has been upgraded to JS rank.

 

  • Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi, an IAS officer of 1999 batch of Telangana cadre, has been appointed as Jt Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat for a tenure ending 19 August 2019. He replaces Alok Vardhan Chaturvedi, an IAS officer of 1986 batch of Bihar cadre.

 

  • Sudhir Kumar, an IAS officer of 1999 batch of Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, has been moved as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare, for the balance period of his overall five-year central deputation tenure up to 16 March 2010. He replaces Ms Dharitri Panda, an Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) officer of 1987 batch, in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

 

  • Ashish Chatterjee, an IAS officer of 1999 batch of Tamil Nadu cadre, and currently PS to Union Commerce Minister, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, for a tenure up to 15 April 2019. The post of Dy Secretary/Director has been upgraded to JS rank. The DS/Dir rank post had fallen vacant after Prashant M Lokhande, an IAS officer of 2001 from Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT)cadre, was appointed as Counsellor in the Indian Embassy in Beijing.

 

  • Ms Anshu Sinha, an IAS officer of 1989 batch of Maharashtra cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, for a period up to 29 January 2017. Ms Sinha (Director, Govt of India) replaces Ms R Jaya, another IAS officer of 1995 batch of Tamil Nadu cadre, who repatriated to Tamil Nadu last month.

 

  • E Ramseh Kumar, an IAS officer of 1999 batch from Madhya Pradesh cadre, is moved as Joint Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries, for a tenure ending 02 June 2019. He replaces Sanjay Bhoosreddy, an IAS officer of 1989 batch of UP cadre, who recently moved to MMTC as CVO.

 

  • Navdeep Rinwa, an lAS officer of 1999 batch of UP, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare. He will replace Ali Raja Rizvi, another lAS officer of 1988 batch of Himachal Pradesh cadre.

 

  • Dinesh Bisht, an IPS officer 1987 batch of Bihar cadre, currently serving as Jt Secretary in Ministry of Minority Affairs, repatriated to his parent cadre (Bihar) with immediate effect.

 

  • Dilip Sharma, an IRS-IT officer of 1992 batch, has been appointed as Director General, Election Commission of India, for a period of three years by converting one Central Secretariat Service (CSS) post to a Non-CSS post. He replaces P K Dash, another IRS-IT officer of 1982 batch.

 

  • R K Sinha, an Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officer of 1991 batch, has been appointed as Additional Secretary (JS level), UPSC, under the Department of Personnel & Training, replacing R K Arora, another Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officer of 1990 batch.

 

  • Dharitri Panda, an Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) officer of 1987 batch, has been appointed as Additional FA & Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence (Finance), on lateral shift basis for a period up to 06 November 2019. She replaces Rajnish Kumar, another an ICAS officer of 1984 batch.

 

  • V G Reddy, an Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE) officer of 1985 batch, has been appointed as Deputy Director General, UIDAI, on lateral shift basis for a tenure ending 10 June 2020. He replaces Alok Chaturvedi, an IAS officer of 1985 batch.
