D J Pandian, a retired 1981 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, has been appointed Vice President and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), based in Beijing.
Prior to it, Pandian was Chief Secretary to the Government of Gujarat and has also headed the Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd (GSPCL) as the Managing Director.

On deputation basis, he also has enough experience with the World Bank.
