Technology as enabler

Technology is an enabler. I would like to add that even though it’s an icing on the cake, it’s an integral part of any project by the government. What is working at the backend is IT infrastructure. All that is required is to weave it around the smart city functions properly. We must know how to take care of urgent situations. From an evolution perspective, it is said that everything must be made smart, which means we are saying that let businesses of a smart city run on technology.

A citizen’s dream in a smart city is that they can have access to smart facilities like smart metering, paying bills and much more. From an architecture perspective, we will have to have clarity on how to design smart cities. We should manage the systems well and have a complete overview of how in real time an IT- smart infrastructure functions.

Whether the sensors are failing or application is failing, the best way is not to react but be proactive in managing it. The projects are getting stuck, as there are so many constraints a developer struggles with, since they don’t have access to virtual time, pre-testing time and the right technology. The key point is to eliminate constraints, create consumer value to have digital identity to avail all services.
