Navneet Rajan Wasan, a 1980 batch IPS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre has been appointed as Director General, Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D).
At present, Wasan is working as Special Director General in the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The post had been lying vacant since March as Rajan Gupta, who is a 1978 batch IPS officer of Punjab cadre superannuated on March 31. The additional charge of DG, BPRD has been with Rajeev Ranjan Verma since April 1, 2015. He is an IPS officer of Bihar cadre.
