The Department of Telecom (DoT) has asked Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to block websites of taxi operators in Delhi.
Following a request from the Delhi government, DoT has issued a letter to ISPs to block the websites of these firms in the capital and send a compliance report on the same.
According to reports, ISPs were asked to shut down the URLs of four websites including Uber, Olacabs, TaxiForSure and angelbroking.com without citing any reason for the move. But the service providers say it is not possible for them to do so.
According to the Delhi government, these companies are unlicensed radio taxis.
