At a recent meeting, the Election Commission of India (EC) officials discussed a proposal for seeding of Aadhaar card with the voter identity card to prevent duplication and falsification.
The meeting, presided over by Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath, took stock of the progress in the proposal, which also included linking details of the National Population Register (NPR) with those of Aadhaar and voter ID cards.

According to sources, efforts would be made to give a final shape to the project at the earliest.
