The Telangana government is likely to unveil an infotech policy in the third week of December, aimed at increasing software exports worth Rs 1,20,000 crore from the state.
State IT minister K T Rama Rao said that the policy will focus on faster clearances.
The government hopes to see a 16 per cent growth for the infotech industry, which has potential to provide direct and indirect employment to about 20 lakh people. According to the official statement, the proposed policy would also encourage research, innovation and entrepreneurship among students. The government plans to encourage industrialisation in Tier-II cities through the policy. The policy would also give importance to social media, analytics and cloud computing.
