For the first time ever, a digital version for the Government of India calendar was launched in the form of a mobile phone app.
This year’s calendar has been developed on the theme of “Clean India Green India” with focus on “Swachhta” and environment issues.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley said that the calendar provided a platform for converging the two key flagship schemes of the Government – Swachh Bharat and Digital India. The Calendar combines the conventional and technological modes of communicating the initiatives of the Government.
The mobile phone app would also have links that would keep users aware of latest government initiatives including that of PIB website and PMO tweets and I&B Ministry’s youtube channel, officials said.
