Vijay Laxmi Joshi has been appointed as Secretary in Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. Joshi, a 1980 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, is presently working as Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj. She will take over the charge from Pankaj Jain, a 1978 batch IAS officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre, who retires on September 30. Joshi has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation in the rank and pay of Secretary with immediate effect.
