Tapan Ray, an IAS officer of 1982 batch from the Gujarat cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Electronics and Communications, Ministry of Telecommunications and IT, in place of Rajiv Gauba. Ray was till recently serving in his parent cadre.
