Hyderabad Metro First to Run on CBTC Techhnology

L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail has awarded signaling and train control contract to Thales Canada and Thales India. Hyderabad Metro Rail will be the first in the country to run on advanced signalling & Train Control technology, Communication Based Train Control (CBTC). The company endeavors to bring the best of  global players in Metro Rail technology to make the 16,000 crore project a truly world class.  Thales Portugal has received the contact for communication system.

The globally proven CBTC technology had evolved over time and operators continued to benefit from low operating, energy and maintenance costs, optimal life cycle costs and proven driver-less technology inherent with SelTrac technology. 

The 72-km project is planned for completion by July 2017 in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
