All one hundred and eighty nine panchayats in Goa are computerised, thereby paving the way for e-governance at grass root level, said Director of Panchayats Menino D'Souza.

He further explained that panchayats have become computer savvy under the 'Infogram' programme of the Central government, which had started about a year ago in the state. The Software installed herein also has a facility to connect village panchyats to BDO office. Further, panchayat secretaries have been trained to handle e-governance, he added. The programme was executed through National Informatics Center (NIC) with Central assistance of INR 1 crore.
