HFCL Infotel Limited (leading telecom provider in Punjab) announced the induction of high-speed bandwidth for the subscribers in the state. This will enable over 60,000 homes in Punjab to experience data, voice and video connectivity through seamless broadband.

Low bandwith broadband hinders the experience of watching videos, Live TV, You-tube, Voice Chat, and other activities such games and movie downloads.

The company had its 'Connect' broadband service in the year 2000 with a broadband connectivity through 3500 kms of optical fibre cables which connected over 136 towns of Punjab. Currently, the company has over 62,000 subscribers. The scheme is cost – effective as compared to other such schemes offered by other players in the domain such as BSNL and Airtel, and offers unlimited data access.

The scheme allows the customers to call anywhere at just Re.1 per minute for local called and Rs.1.99 for STD. They have also launched a highly cost-effective home plan at Rs.1111 with a speed upto 1 mbps which makes Internet surfing for information and knowledge affordable for families.
