Information System For Water Resources

For the XIth Five Year Plan a Plan Scheme named

For the XIth Five Year Plan a Plan Scheme named 'Development of Water Resources Information System' has been approved with an estimated cost of INR 234.3 crore. The Central Water Commission (CWC) is implementing this scheme in cooperation with National Remote Sensing Agency and National Informatics Centre. The main component of this new scheme is to develop online information system about water resources data.

Within this scheme provisions have also been made for collection of Hydrological Data including Snow Hydrology and Water Quality Data, Minor Irrigation Statistics and Monitoring of ongoing projects.
