The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), India, is introducing e-Procurement system, with effect from 1st September2008 and would start inviting tender through e-Procurement portal. The system would make it convenient to participate in the bid and the tendering process will be more efficient, faster and transparent. All the contractors who wish to participate in tenders and who have already participated in the recent past including those who are working for different projects in NDMC  can avail this opportunity and rester themselves with Application Services Provider of Directorate General of Supplies and Disposal (DGS&D) by following procedures givin in the portal httt://delhi.govtprocurementc.com for participation in e-Procurement system.

Contractors will have to obtain Digital Signature Certificate from certifying agencies authorized by the Government of India under Information Technology Act 2000. However, agencies who are already registered with DGS&D e-Procurement portal need not take fresh registration.

The existing manual system of tendering will not be available for all the tenders of values over INR 1 million  after introduction of e-Procurement system with effect from 1st September 2008. The manual system of tendering for tenders of value below INR 1 million will also stop after a period of two months from now.
