It is expected that the computerisation of land registration will start in Cooch Behar during October, 2007.
The first phase of the computerisation, land registration will be launched at all the land registration offices in Mathabhanga and Cooch Behar Sadar sub-divisions. Later, the facility will be available in the remaining registration offices too. The computerisation of land registration and records concerned is going to be launched in Cooch Behar district. There are 30 employees only out of 96 approved posts. There exists shortage of staff in order to effectively carry out the registration under the e-governance project.
