e-Auction for cardamom to begin on August 23, 2007

The Minister of State for Commerce, Jairam Ramesh will officially launch the electronic trading system at Bodinaykannore, a major cardamom center. Spices Board had earlier also planned to commerce e-Auction by the middle of July, 2007. In the first phase, the new system would be implemented at Bodi and later at seven other traditional auction centers, including Kumily, Vandanmedu and Puliyanmala. The Board will provide hardware and software.
