TCS seeks major contracts for e-Passport

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is in pursuit of at least four global request for proposals (RFPs) for electronic passport (e-Passport) infrastructure.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is in pursuit of at least four global request for proposals (RFPs) for electronic passport (e-Passport) infrastructure.

The company is talking with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to standardize international travel documents and coming with specifications of machine readable documents. While addressing at the press conference, the Executive Vice-President and Head of Advanced Technology Centre at TCS, M. Vidyasagar, said the electronic passport require a collaborative effort in implementation to make travel-related issues smooth, swift and easy. The company has become the first Certifying Authority (CA) in the country to issue 2-lakh plus digital signatures.
