RSTA, Bhutan unveils e-Ralies to track bus services

The Road Safety and Transport Authority (RSTA) of Bhutan is planning to launch an electronic registration and licensing information system (e-Ralies), which will allow to track the movement of passenger bus services in the country.

The government will provide computers with modem gadgets to all the 16 RSTA base offices. UNDP has granted US$ 40,000 fund to RSTA to implement the system, as part of the e-Governance project. Though the reservation of tickets cannot be availed online, but passengers could check the availability of bus tickets online. At present mobile phones have been provided to bus drivers to track the movement of buses.
