Malaysian Ministry in discussion with MAMPU for e-govt Services

The Malaysian Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications is in discussion with the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) to deploy the Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPV6) based e-Government services across the country.

The Malaysia would be able to achieve our aspiration to transform Malaysia into IPV6-enabled by 2010. While addressing at the opening of “Next Generation IP Networks/3-G and Next Generation Mobile Communications” seminar, the ministry's secretary general Datuk Dr Halim Man said, the government's leadership was necessary to propagate IPV6. IPV6 would also enable the proliferation of web-based services as security would be enhanced.
