The Department of Internal Affairs (USA) has prepared nationwide consultations for its proposed Identity Verification Service (IVS). These token based identity service would be available for users of government services.
The consultation will include submissions and a series of nine focus groups throughout the country. The consultation will identify stakeholders and maintain privacy and human rights in rural areas. Along with the Government Log-on Service (GLS), it is part of a greater authentication service project,which is considered a core component of the state services e-Government strategy to allow individuals, businesses and agencies to transact more securely online. The consultation will raise awareness of the service and encourage discussions over its implications for government-to-consumer and government-to-business services.
