More allocations on National e-Governance programmes in Indian Annual Budget

The Union Government of India has increased the allocation for e-Governance programmes by 82 per cent to INR 719 million to fund the ambitious programmes of e-Governance.

 

While presenting the annual budget of this year, Indian Finance Minister, P Chidambaram told that the Government has also increased the allocation for e-Governance at the state level by INR 500 million. The Government has launched an ambitious e-Governance project with an objective of efficiency, convenience, accessibility and transparency in its functions. The Government has also provided INR 33 million for a new scheme of manpower development for the software industry. Last year, Government had launched the INR 23, 000 million National e-Governance Programme. The Government has also unveiled 26 new projects under the programme as private public partnerships.
